Fees are based on a fixed charge, as per prevailing tariff, related to the Candidate’s gross annual package, to include salary, commission, bonuses, gratuities and other taxable emoluments payable to or receivable by the Candidate.

The facts

The UK hospitality industry is experiencing a significant staffing shortage, with some estimating a constant vacancy level of circa 180,000 - 200,000

Recent surveys suggest the following shortfalls

Front-of-house staff - 84%

Chefs - 67%

Kitchen porters - 36%

Managerial roles - 33%

 

Principal causes

The shortage is due to a number of factors, including;

Brexit - 92,000 EU workers left the hospitality industry in 2020, and prior to Brexit, a high percentage of unskilled workers were from the EU

Covid - 19 - Nearly 80% of hospitality workers were furloughed during the pandemic. Many chose not to return

Talent pool - Only 17% of UK millennials would consider a job in hospitality

Immigration - Stringent skilled worker visa criteria
