Job Description

Our client is a multi site healthcare provider based in the South Wales area. We are seeking to recruit a Head Cook to lead the catering department in their brand new home.

You will be working 45 hours a week, 5/7 providing tasty, healthy and nutritious breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks to the 29 residents and approx 10 staff per day. There will be some initial set up of the HACCP, rotas, ordering systems etc. You will be responsible for working within a budget and planning for a 4 weekly menu that caters to the age groups present in the home. The home caters to younger adults with challenging behaviours, and as such the ages could range from 18-60.

You will be a fully qualified and experienced Chef/Cook with Level 3 Food Safety qualification (or be working towards it; ideally experienced within the healthcare sector, and with excellent working recommendations from previous employers. Management or supervisory experience is also highly desirable as whilst this is a very hands on position, you will be the senior member of the kitchen team and will need to be able to manage the running of the catering department.
