Job Description
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, for a modern Head Chef or current Sous Chef looking to progress to Head Chef. To assist with opening up a brand new restaurant in heart of Brighton with a start date as soon as possible. This exciting new restaurant is 100% plant-based, plastic-free and mostly gluten free.
Working alongside the Executive Chef, preparing menus and running the kitchen brigade of 4 chefs. This role would involve overseeing all aspects of the kitchen including but not limited to Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, monitoring quality and helping junior members reach their full potential by developing their skill and promote staff moral.
The ideal candidate would be responsible for establishing new menu ideas using fresh produce whilst maintaining a designated GP, staff rotas that fall in line with budget, overseeing daily duties of your team.
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000
Days: 5 days out of 7 (including evenings and weekends)
Holidays: 28 (inclusive of Bank Holidays)

A suitable candidate would:
Have experience as a head chef or at least 2 years at Sous chef level
Possess professional cooking / hospitality qualifications, and Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2
Have a sound knowledge of seasonal fresh produce
Be passionate about serving great food
Have great management skills and able to lead the team
Have a positive, can-do attitude and great time management so as to cope with busy periods
