The Company

Our client operates a beautiful Coaching Inn on the Dorset Coast , which oozes charm and character. With a warm and welcoming feel throughout, our client has retained many original features including Oak Beams and Wood paneling. With a comfortable atmosphere, this is definitely the place to enjoy the best the Jurassic Coast has on offer. With a variety of custom, our client has enjoyed a very buoyant Christmas and New Period and is looking to strengthen the team to continue to provide an unrivalled service.

The role

We are looking to recruit a hands-on Sous Chef to join this friendly brigade. The role of Sous Chef will involve working in both the restaurant and the Inn along with supervising the standard of the food produced. The Sous Chef will also assist in menu development, due diligence and controlling the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef. This is a great opportunity to work in this coastal location and in this unique property.

Candidates for the role of Sous Chef will ideally be in a Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef position currently and have the ability work with fresh, local and seasonal ingredients. Candidates with classical training would be preferred but is not essential. Our client is looking to work towards a Rosette standard and would be looking for a candidate who has an eye for detail and the ability to cook refined cuisine.

What We Are Looking For

Successful individuals will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience at a Junior Sous Chef or Sous Chef role with in a professional kitchen.
  • Classical training would be preferred.
  • A real eye for detail.
  • Ability to train and develop members of the brigade.
  • Excellent people, organization and communication skills.
