The Role
As Sous Chef you will be able to assist the Head Chef with the day to managerial roles; running a busy kitchen, stock control & ordering, staff supervision and development and ensuring high standards of health, safety & hygiene at all times.
The Sous Chef is required to stand in and lead the team in the Head chef’s absence (days off / holidays etc) and to support the team, report to management and input ideas.
What We Are Looking For
Successful individuals will preferably possess / be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Relationship/Communication skills : The best Sous Chefs spend as much of their time managing people and building relationships as they do preparing and cooking food.
  • Previous experience / background ideally within a gastro pub environment or small country inn where the team is hands on.
  • Excellent working references / recommendations from previous employers.
