Job Description

NIGHT MANAGER - £26.5k – FULL TIME

As a Night Manager, you’ll oversee the running of the hotel from sundown to sunrise. This is a hands on role managing the guest expectations and ensuring the standards of the brand are maintained.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Ensure all night audit functions are carried out for the hotel according to the Standard Operating Procedure.

  • Work closely with the Front Office and Revenue Manager to ensure room sales are optimised by achieving budgeted occupancy and room rates.

  • Ensure billing and control of revenues are maintained at all times.

  • Assist and ensure all Front Office meet Operations/Revenue targets.

  • Understand and control departmental budgeted and actual payroll costs by allocating labour resources in line with forecasted business levels.

  • Provide training and development for employees in Front Office procedures.

  • Evaluate performance and product regularly to recognise challenges for the future.

  • Maintain levels of service which consistently exceed the expectations of our guests.

  • Understand the importance of music, lighting temperature, flowers, cleanliness and language in the department to ensure the correct ambience is maintained at all times, and to work to the Standard Operational Procedures at all times.

Previous Experience Requirements:


  • Working in a hospitality industry, ideally in a hotel setting

  • Managing and supervising staff members

  • Handling guest complaints and resolving conflicts effectively

  • Front office operations, including check-in/check-out procedures and handling reservations

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and manage a team

  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly on your feet

  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and provide exceptional service to guests at all times.
