EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR JUNIOR SOUS CHEF WITH FREE ACCOMMODATION AND GREAT TIPS!

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, who has an opening for a live-in Junior Sous Chef, within their busy East Sussex countryside pub. This award-winning establishment prides itself in providing fresh, gourmet, British food. They butcher their own lamb and venison etc. and use fresh, seasonal and local produce.

Please note, that owing to its location, it is advised that applicants have access to own transport.

For the right candidate, there is potential for promotion to Sous Chef in the next 6 months, owing to the long-standing Sous Chef moving on. You’d be working alongside the Head Chef and a team of four other chefs. The role would involve assisting with daily preparation, cooking to order well presented and delicious dishes and assisting in maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards. Experience in a similar setting would be ideal.

As this is a busy establishment, an ideal candidate would be keen to establish themselves as part of the venture. Therefore, if you’re passionate about serving great food and are excited by the prospect of working alongside the team to ensure its success, this would be the perfect role for you. If you can add to that enthusiasm and a great sense of humour, come on down! It’s really important to find the right person who’ll get on well with the existing team.

Salary: £22,000+ depending on experience

Hours: Full Time

Holidays: 28 (inclusive of Bank Holidays)

A suitable candidate would

  • Possess professional cooking / hospitality qualifications, and Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2
  • Have knowledge of seasonal fresh produce
  • Have a positive, can-do attitude and great time management so as to cope with busy periods
  • Have the confidence and knowledge to lead the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef
  • Drive and have access to own transport, as public transport is very limited

Desirable experience, skills and qualifications:

  • Experience as a Junior Sous Chef or Chef de Partie in a similar setting would be advantageous
  • First Aid at Work Qualification
