We are recruiting on behalf of our client, who has an opening for an experienced head chef within their busy hotel based in Brighton. This leading hotel brand offers its guests freshly prepared food in a comfortable and relaxed environment. This hotel includes an a la carte restaurant as well as room service and banqueting facilities. 

 

Working alongside the team, the head chef would involve training the kitchen brigade, ensuing the highest standards of well presented quality dishes and assisting in maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards in the kitchen. Experience in a similar setting is preferable and an individual willing to learn and be part of a great team would be ideal.

 

Salary: £36,000 - £39,000 plus service charge

Days: 5 out of 7

Holidays: 28

A suitable candidate would:

Have experience in a similar hotel operation and have an extensive knowledge of food and fresh produce

Be organised, an excellent communicator and have a hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail

Have a sound knowledge of hygiene standards and COSHH

Be able to train and develop junior members of the team

Possess professional cooking qualifications and food hygiene certificate level 2

Be able to develop the current menus and source quality ingredients

Be passionate about serving great food

Have a positive, can-do attitude and great time management so as to cope with busy periods
