Job Description

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, who has an opening for an experienced Head Chef within their stunning countryside hotel. Beautifully situated in West Sussex, this privately owned establishment offers its guests 1AA Rosette, fine dining cuisine in a comfortable and relaxed environment.

 

Before continuing, please note that owing to its location, all applicants would need to have a full, clean driving licence and own transport.

 

Working alongside the Executive Chef, this role would involve overseeing all aspects of the kitchen.

The ideal candidate would be responsible for the training of the team as well as planning and developing the menus for the restaurant, lounge and banqueting. This is a role which will grow due to plans to further develop and expand the business. A background in an establishment with at least 1-2 AA Rosette’s is preferable.

 

Salary: £35,000 plus bonus depending on experience

Days: 5 days out of 7

Holidays: 28 (inclusive of Bank Holidays and Xmas day)

A suitable candidate would:

 

Have experience as a head chef or at least 2 years at Sous chef level

Possess professional cooking / hospitality qualifications, and Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2

Have a sound knowledge of seasonal fresh produce

Be passionate about serving great food

Have great management skills and able to lead the team

Have a positive, can-do attitude and great time management so as to cope with busy periods

Drive and have access to own transport, as public transport is very limited
