The Company

We are recruiting for a Head Chef on behalf of a prestigious school in East Sussex. It is a fast paced environment with high volume where teamwork is essential. All food is made fresh on site and to a very high standard. High volume prep and service is experienced on a daily basis. Other events such as weddings and other prestigious dinners require the applicant to have experience in high standard food production and excellent presentation, as well as having a sound knowledge of producing food on a large scale.

The Role

Work closely with the team on food production offering hands on support, expertise and innovation

Organise, prepare and oversee the preparation of food daily and also for events and functions throughout the year

Responsible for all aspects of food safety/hygiene and COSHH

A sound knowledge of costing and budgeting control

Manage a large team of Chefs and Kitchen Porters

Continue to improve and develop the current food offering

What We Are Looking For

Successful individuals will be able to demonstrate the following:

The right candidate must have a clean criminal record, as a DBS must be completed before commencing

Proven experience as a Head Chef including catering for large numbers ensuring high standards at all times

Possess great people skills and be able to develop and train a large team

Have a real passion for food and customer service

Food innovation and development is essential along with keeping up to date with current food trends

Great abilities in banqueting style food and also a flair for great presentation

Excellent organisation skills
