Job Description

Catering Manager - Offshore Oil & Gas Contractor - Nigeria

Key Aims & Objectives

· To ensure that high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, quality and safety are maintained at all times

· Thatthere is a good variety of menus appropriate for the clientele

· To ensure that there is a good level of customer satisfaction

· That all catering is delivered on time, at the required quality, in sufficient quantity and with acceptable levels of waste

· That service is prompt and diligent

· That service is friendly and courteous

· That procurement operates effectively and all orders are placed in good time

That all catering operates with the approved budgets.

Prime Responsibilities & duties

· Has principal accountability for all catering including:-

o Club restaurant

o Club Bar

o Site Canteen

· Responsible for leisure facilities within the camp including:-

o Swimming pool

o Gymnasium

o Tennis courts

o Club TV/Pool room

· Responsible for HSEQ within Catering Function including:-

o Safe working practices and procedures

o Bi-weekly talks on safety, quality and performance

· Responsible for catering staff:-

Recruitment and development

o Monitoring staff attendance, performance and behaviour

· Accountable for monitoring stock levels and overseeing the timely procurement of all food, drinks and other consumables within the Catering function

· In liaison with the facilities department, ensuring that all buildings and equipment are maintained to a good standard

· Ensuring that all dealings with the catering function, notably financial and procurement ones, are dealt with ethically and with complete transparency

· Front line responsibility for handling any behavioural issues with clientele

· Responsible for alerting management to any issues.

The person we are looking for

Education

· Good general standard of education

· Relevant hotel or catering qualifications

Experience

· Minimum 10 years relevant international experience in a hotel, restaurant, sports and social club , residential camp or similar offshore site.

· Prior experience of managing a sizeable team of people

· Good experience of providing a customer facing service

Personal characteristics

· Cheerful and upbeat personality

· Good communication and inter-personal skills with ability to communicate well with other departments

· Tactful and persuasive

· Good appearance – creates a good impression

· Culturally aware and adept at operating in a multi-cultural environment

· High level of integrity and ethical behaviour – sets a good example

· Performance/delivery orientated

Willing to commit to 5 years in Nigeria
